Internal Plastering

Smooth walls, considered details and a finish suited to the room.

A finish built
around the project.

From a repaired ceiling to a full property renovation, internal plastering prepares the surfaces that you see every day. We work with homeowners and project teams across Suffolk and Norfolk, discussing the background, required finish and what needs to happen before decorating.

Repairs, skimming and renovation

The scope may involve local repairs, making good after other trades or finishing a wider area. We first look at the existing surface and any loose, damaged or incompatible material. A skim coat is a finishing layer; it should not be used to conceal an unresolved background problem.

Walls, ceilings and openings

The finish needs to work across corners, reveals, openings and junctions as well as the main wall area. In an oak-framed space such as Sibton, the meeting of plaster and exposed timber is central to the appearance. Movement details should be considered as part of the specification.

Preparing for a reliable finish

Plasterboarding and background repairs may be needed before finishing. We discuss suction, surface condition and compatibility rather than applying one preparation to every surface. Where a traditional lime approach is more appropriate, we can discuss the project with Suffolk Lime.

Drying and decoration

Plaster and background conditions influence drying. Decoration should follow the finish manufacturer’s guidance once the surface is ready, rather than an assumed date. Tell us your decorating plans and other-trade programme so that the plastering work can be coordinated around them.

A few useful questions

Can you help with one room or ceiling?

Yes. We welcome individual-room and repair enquiries as well as larger renovations. Send your location and a few photographs.

Does plasterboarding form part of the work?

It can. Boarding and preparation are discussed separately so that the quotation makes the full scope clear.

Further technical guidance

British Gypsum system guidance. General guidance supports the discussion; it does not identify the products used on a photographed project.
